New MacBook Pro 16', No Space for Upgradability, Thanks Apple!

As many of you know, Apple had released the "brand new" 16" MacBook Pro on Friday, November 15th. It was obvious that they had made only minor changes, like the CPU, either a 2.6Ghz 6-Core i7 or 2.4Ghz 8-Core i9 Processor. Storage options has been modified to a max of an 8TB SSD, and GPU's were changed from the Vega 20 to the new Radeon RX 5300M(4GB) or 5500M (4/8GB). They also fixed their horrible and faulty butterfly keyboard, new switches and everything.

Onto the Upgrades!

Apple is really screwing over their customers here... iFixit rated this thing a 1 out of 10 for repairing due to how tricky and complex Apple has made it. Items like the CPU, Ram, Storage are all soldered to the Logic Board, meaning if one of those parts were to fail, you are looking at a serious amount of cash to fix this thing. Items like the Cooling fans, Thunderbolt ports and Trackpad can be removed and replaced easily, while other things like the Speakers are physically glued to the chassis.

The whole scene of upgrading your computer from Apple has been pretty non-existent for a while now so don't expect too much out of them. However, we do have the new Mac Pro releasing very soon, which is supposed to allow for user upgradability! If you're looking for a laptop to upgrade for the best bang for your buck, the MacBook Pro probably isn't the best fit for you... However, if you are willing to pay for the upgrades straight through Apple, you're probably fine, unless some of your hardware decides to crap out on you and the warranty expired. (lol)
